Police in Sioux Lookout have seized drugs believed to be worth $175,000 following an investigation into drug trafficking linked to people from Toronto.

In addition to the drug seizure, two 16-year-olds have been charged, as well as a 22-year-old from Winnipeg.

The arrests took place when a vehicle was stopped April 30 on Highway 72 in Sioux Lookout. Several Ontario Provincial Police units took part, as well as members of the Treaty Three Police Service.

Investigation began in March

“The investigation began in March 2026 and focused on the trafficking of illicit drugs from Toronto to Sioux Lookout,” the OPP said in a news release May 6.

“Throughout the investigation, officers identified multiple individuals and a vehicle of interest.”

Following the vehicle stop, police seized drugs believed to be 460 grams of cocaine, 253 grams of fentanyl, 108 grams of meth, 312 hydromorphone tablets, and 63 oxycodone tablets.

The Winnipeg suspect and the two young offenders are charged with five counts of drug trafficking. One of the 16-year-old suspects is also charged with failing to comply with a release order.

After a court appearance, all three suspects were remanded into custody at the Kenora District Jail.
