SHA warns of hepatitis A exposure at downtown Saskatoon club

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) says there may have been a possible exposure to hepatitis A at The Saskatoon Club in Saskatoon.

In a statement Thursday afternoon, the SHA confirmed a case of hepatitis A in an employee at the club, located at 417 21st Street East.

“The period of potential exposure for customers and staff of this establishment is February 25 to March 18, 2026,” the SHA said.

Hepatitis A is a liver infection caused by a virus, typically spread through contaminated food or water or close contact with an infected person, according to the SHA.

Anyone who ate or drank at the club during the exposure period is being advised to monitor for symptoms for up to 50 days after their last possible exposure.

Symptoms can include loss of appetite, dark urine, light-coloured stool, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and jaundice, which causes yellowing of the skin and eyes.

The SHA says some people, particularly young children, may not show symptoms but can still spread the virus.

Anyone who develops symptoms is advised to seek medical assessment promptly and inform their healthcare provider of the possible exposure.
