Police attended a residence in south-end Barrie about an ongoing drug trafficking investigation on April 27th. Three people inside the residence were placed under arrest. At the end of the search, police had seized a Glock handgun with an extended magazine, 22 grams of cocaine, small amounts of fentanyl and methamphetamine, 6 MDMA pills, and a collapsible baton. As a result of the investigation the first accused, a 31-year-old, was charged with: Trafficking and possession of cocaine and other drugs, unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition, careless storage of firearm, two counts of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and two counts of failing to comply with undertaking. The second accused, a 34-year-old, was charged with half-a-dozen weapons charges, and possession of cocaine. The first accused was held for a bail hearing, and the second accused was released with a future court date at Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford.
