Tips sought after year-long graffiti campaign in Sault Ste. Marie

For more than a year, an unknown suspect has been tagging Sault properties with graffiti. The 'tags' contain the letters "COSO," a face and the number 36.

Police in Sault Ste. Marie seek tips to identify whoever has been “tagging” properties across the city in a series of mischief incidents and acts of vandalism.

Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District released some details about the incidents this week, appealing for tips to help solve the case.

“Over the course of the year, an unknown individual has been tagging buildings and light posts across the city,” said Crime Stoppers in a news release, adding the graffiti has the letters “COSO” with a face and the number 36.

Appeal for information

“If you have any information, please contact Crime Stoppers,” the organization said in an online video accompanying the release.

Information can be provided directly to the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service or submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
