Timmins police are investigating two separate motor vehicle collisions that closed intersections across the city on Tuesday evening. The first crash occurred at about 3:40 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 655 and Algonquin Boulevard East. Highway 655 intersection reopened The intersection was shut down in all directions for almost four hours, reopening shortly before 7:30 p.m. Second crash involving vehicle and cyclist Staff Sgt. Mike Fortin advised CTV News, by email, of a second road closure due to a motor vehicle crash shortly after 6:15 p.m. Police said officers were currently on the scene investigating a collision involving a motor vehicle and a cyclist at the intersection of Moneta Avenue and Pine Street South. The intersection was shut down in all directions for almost three hours, reopening shortly before 9 p.m. Officers had asked motorists to avoid both areas and use alternative routes as police investigated the crashes.
