Sault police investigate after body found in wooded area

Police in Sault Ste. Marie will be on the scene on Trunk Road on Wednesday to continue their investigation into human remains found in the area earlier this week.

In a news release, officials said the body was discovered in a wooded section of the road by people walking in the area around 7 p.m. on April 26.

“Today, there will be an increased police presence in the area as members of the emergency services unit will be conducting a grid search,” police said.

“Detectives with the forensic identification unit and investigation services continue to actively investigate. Further information may be released as it becomes available.”
