A Regina city councillor wants to review the possibility of making council positions full-time jobs. David Froh is expected to introduce a motion this week with larger discussion at council next month. Depending on the results of the review, the concept could come with higher pay and more administrative supports but with less people on the council, due to a possible reduction in wards. Currently, city councillors work on a part time basis – which Froh argues results in a high workload with growing demands. Froh is calling to have the results of any review sometime next year, to make recommendations ahead of the next municipal election in 2028.
