Police say speed is believed to be a factor in the city’s second motorcycle fatality of the year. A motorcyclist was thrown from his bike after losing control while attempting to exit Anthony Henday Drive on the Calgary Trail ramp just before 3 p.m. The 22-year-old man was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries. “It is incredibly unfortunate that the city’s first two motorcycle fatalities of 2026 have occurred just days apart,” Staff Sgt. Richard Windover said in a news release. “Our thoughts are with the families, friends and loved ones affected by these tragic losses. As summer comes to an end, we are urging all motorists to slow down.” The crash is still under investigation.
