A 27-year-old Ottawa man is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop and the subsequent execution of a search warrant by Ontario Provincial Police in Dryden this week. According to a news release, OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on Whyte Avenue just after 1 p.m. on Aug. 4 as part of an ongoing investigation. The stop led to the arrest of the Ottawa resident and the seizure of suspected illicit drugs – including cocaine and hydromorphone – as well as cash and evidence of drug trafficking. Search warrant executed Following the arrest, investigators obtained a search warrant for a property in the 100 block of Grand Trunk Avenue. That search resulted in the seizure of additional suspected illicit drugs – including cocaine, hydromorphone and oxycodone – along with more cash and further evidence of drug trafficking. Multiple charges laid As a result, the accused has been charged with three drug trafficking offences, one count of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime and two counts of failing to comply with a release order. The man was held in custody pending a court appearance Wednesday.
