More information is expected this morning on arrests that have been made in the deadly Salsa on St. Clair shooting last month. Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw will be joined by Det.-Sgt. Stacey McCabe to provide an update on the shooting at a news conference on Friday morning. Shaquan Quashie, 25, and Cesar Vernaza, 20, were killed and multiple others were injured following an exchange of gunfire in the middle of the festival on July 11. Chief Myron Demkiw was asked about the incident at an unrelated news conference on Thursday. “I appreciate the opportunity, given that Taste of Danforth is coming. I can tell you that late yesterday evening, I’ve been advised there have been arrests made in that investigation,” he said. The update will be held at Toronto police headquarters at 11 a.m.
