Hwy. 17 reopens near Marathon after three-vehicle crash

Highway 17 between Marathon and Terrace Bay has reopened following a serious three-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon.

Ontario Provincial Police said the collision took place around 6:15 a.m. and involved “a transport truck, an SUV and a pickup truck.”

“One male was transported to the hospital with serious injuries,” police said in a news release.

“The collision prompted a full closure of the highway. The investigation into the cause of the collision remains ongoing. Further updates will be provided as available.”
