A section of Highway 17 northeast of Espanola that was closed for several hours on Monday following a single-vehicle crash has reopened. Ontario Provincial Police announced the road closure on social media shortly before 3:45 p.m. on Aug. 24, advising motorists of significant travel disruptions in the area. “OPP is advising motorists to expect delays if travelling through the area” and to “plan alternate routes if possible,” provincial police said in their initial post. Roadway cleared OPP confirmed shortly after 6:30 p.m. that the highway had been cleared and reopened from Hamersveld Road to Fen Road.
