Film production in North Bay to use replica guns, cop cars

Filming in some areas of North Bay on Monday will involve fake police using fake firearms, according to a new release from the real police in the city.

The North Bay Police Service and the City of North Bay are giving residents a heads-up about film production in the city in two areas July 6.

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., people may see film crews in the area of Cassells Street and Second Avenue West. Then, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., production will take place in the 100 block of Giroux Street.

Prop SWAT vehicles

“During filming, members of the public may notice prop SWAT vehicles, police vehicles and individuals carrying replica firearms,” police said.

“These items are being used as part of the production and do not pose a threat to public safety.”

Police said that “appropriate safety measures will be in place throughout the production.”

However, anyone who sees an emergency or suspicious activity unrelated to the scheduled filming should call 911.
