A five-day police blitz in downtown Sudbury saw the bike patrol execute 18 arrest warrants and seize nearly $8,000 in fentanyl and cocaine.

The operation took place from May 9-13, Greater Sudbury Police Service said in a news release Wednesday morning.

A man, 40, wanted for fraud and possession of property obtained by crime was arrested without incident May 9, police said.

During a search of the suspect, officers found 25.8 grams of suspected fentanyl.

As a result, he was also charged with drug trafficking before being released. The man is scheduled to appear in court June 11.

The next day, a man wanted on a bench warrant for failing to comply with probation was found on Elgin Street and taken into custody.

“Upon searching the individual incident to arrest, officers located 37 grams of fentanyl and close to 17 grams of cocaine, as well as $1,690 in cash,” police said.

The 33-year-old man was charged with an additional two counts of drug trafficking.

He was remanded following a bail hearing.

A stolen TREK bicycle worth $5,000 was found in the area of Elm Street and Durham Street and returned to its owner.
