The Thunder Bay Police say its traffic unit conducted a back-to-school and aggressive driving campaign from Sept. 6 to 11, issuing a total of 110 tickets, including five for stunt driving. Other charges included violations of the Highway Traffic Act, Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act and Liquor Licence and Control Act. “Five of the Highway Traffic Act charges were issued for stunt driving, two were for racing a motor vehicle with over 110 tickets overall issued for speeding,” said police in a Sept. 16 news release. “Some of the other charges included unsafe vehicle, careless driving and a suspended driver.” Police said eight criminal code charges were laid including three counts for impaired driving, dangerous operation and operation while prohibited.
