Periods of freezing rain are forecast for the Greater Montreal area, according to a special weather statement issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). The icy weather is expected to begin overnight Wednesday and continue into early Thursday morning. “A warm front will bring some snow late in the evening, followed by a short period of freezing rain,” the agency notes. “Thursday morning, temperatures will rise above the freezing mark. Up to two millimetres of freezing rain is possible.” ECCC warns that this could lead to icy, slippery roads and rush hour delays on Thursday morning.
