Woman found dead in wooded area near Quebec City

A woman’s body was discovered in a wooded area on the South Shore of Quebec City on Monday evening, according to Quebec City police (SPVQ).

A man suspected of being linked to the woman’s death is currently in custody.

“Investigators from the Crimes Against Persons Unit of the Quebec City Police Department are currently investigating the suspicious death,” a press release stated.

Officers, assisted by Lévis police, located the victim following “evidence gathered during the investigation.”

“At this time, a man in his 60s has been arrested. He is currently in custody and will be interviewed by investigators,” the SPVQ said.

The investigation is ongoing, and a perimeter has been established around the scene.
