Man struck and killed on South Shore highway in Longueuil

A man was struck and killed on a South Shore highway in Longueuil, Que.

A man was struck and killed on a highway on Montreal’s South Shore late Wednesday night.

According to provincial police (SQ) spokesperson Ève Brochu-Joubert, emergency services were called to the scene on Route-132 West in Longueuil at 11:15 p.m. after a collision between a man and a vehicle.

The SQ did not release the victim’s age or identity, but said that he was on the highway in traffic when he was struck by the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead on scene.

The driver was a man in his 20s who was transported to the hospital to be treated for nervous shock.

The SQ’s collision experts are analyzing the scene to determine the causes and circumstances that led to the deadly collision.
