Montreal police (SPVM) confirmed that an officer was stabbed with a sharp object and a person was injured by a police gunshot during a police operation Wednesday in the Villeray—Saint-Michel—Parc-Extension borough. Police were called to a home on 14th Avenue near Émile-Journault Avenue. CTV News has learned that police were responding to a wellness check related to a domestic dispute. The police officer’s life is not in danger. The person who was injured by a police gunshot is in serious condition. Quebec’s police watchdog (BEI) said in an email to CTV News that it is investigating the incident and is asking for any witnesses to come forward.
