Montreal marathon and construction will result in these road closures

Those driving in and around the city this weekend should know that construction projects and the Montreal Marathon will result in road closures and traffic headaches.

Planning trips before leaving is highly recommended.

Montreal Marathon

• The 10K, 5K and 1K races will take place on Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. at Parc Maisonneuve. Expect traffic.
• On Sunday, full and half-marathon runners hit the roads at 7:45 a.m. and will be on the streets until around noon.

Honoré Mercier Bridge (R-138)

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., the Montreal-bound (R-138 east, downstream bridge) span of the bridge will be completely closed, with two lanes open toward the south shore on the Kahnawake-bound span.
• The ramps leading from R-138 east (from Châteauguay) and R-132 west (from La Prairie) to the bridge will be closed.

Louis-Hippolyte-la Fontaine Tunnel (A-25)

Northbound

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m., the tunnel will be completely closed between exit 90 (R-132) on Highway 20 West in Longueuil and the Hochelaga Street access in Montreal.

Southbound

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m., the tunnel will be completely closed between exit 5 (Sherbrooke Street) in Montreal and Route-132 in Longueuil.

The following will be default closures:

North

• The Route-132 east and west access ramps (exits 89-N).
• Access from Île-Charron Street.

South

• Access from Sherbrooke, Tellier and Des Futailles streets.
• Souligny Avenue eastbound, between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand streets.

Highway 25

• On Saturday, from 8 a.m. to noon Highway 25 southbound will be closed between exit 5 (R-138, Hochelaga Street, Sherbrooke Street) and the Souligny Avenue access.

Highway 20/Harwood Boulevard (Vaudreuil-Dorion)

• From Friday at 9:30 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., one lane will be open on Highway 20 (Harwood Boulevard) in both directions between Ranger and Saint-Charles avenues.

Sainte-Croix Avenue

• From Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., Sainte-Croix Avenue will be closed in both directions between Côte-de-Liesse Road West and Dion Street.

Côte-de-Liesse Road

• From Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., three of four lanes will be closed on Côte-de-Liesse Road West between Houde Street and Sainte-Croix Avenue.

Saint-Jacques Street

• From Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., Saint-Jacques Street will be closed in both directions between Cavendish Boulevard and Helen-Rochester Street.

Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge (A-40)

• From Friday at midnight to Monday at 10 a.m., three lanes will be available on the bridge towards Montréal, and two lanes will be available towards Vaudreuil-Dorion.
