Major road closures cancelled for the long weekend in Montreal

Work on the St. Laurent overpass requires workers to have access to the pillar in the Ville-Marie and Viger tunnels, and thus requires long-term closures of the left lanes in both directions. (MTQ)

Major construction that was planned for two major highways in Montreal has been cancelled due to the weather.

The Quebec Transport Ministry (MTQ) had originally planned work in the Ville-Marie Tunnel (R-136) westbound and on the Metropolitan Expressway (A-40) eastbound for the entirety of the long weekend.

That work has been cancelled.
