Here are the Montreal-area weekend road closures due to construction

The first week of September brought bumper-to-bumper traffic across Montreal, with drivers frustrated by heavy congestion.

There are major closures planned for the weekend due to construction projects in and around Montreal on the weekend.

Commuters are advised to plan their trips well in advance.

Cancelled: Metropolitan Expressway (A-40)

• Planned construction work on the Metropolitan East has been cancelled due to weather.

Bonaventure Highway (A-10)

• From Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., the Highway 10 west junction (Bonaventure/downtown) will be closed on the Bonaventure Highway (A-10) west, at the end of the Samuel De Champlain Bridge, at exit 58 (A-10 west, downtown, Île des Sœurs).
• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Saturday at 6 a.m., the Bonaventure Highway (A-10) east will be closed between exit 4 (A-15, A-20) and the Samuel De Champlain Bridge.

Highway 25

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m., Highway 25 North will be closed between exit 5 (Route-138, Sherbrooke Street, Yves-Prévost) and the Sherbrooke Street East access.
• From Sunday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. Highway 25 South will close between exit 5 (R-138, Hochelaga Street, Sherbrooke Street) and the next access.

Montreal-Toronto Boulevard

• From Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., Montreal-Toronto Boulevard East will be closed between Saint-Joseph Boulevard and Saint-Pierre Avenue.

Saint-Jacques Street

• From Friday at 10 p.m. to Sunday at 10 p.m., Saint-Jacques Street eastbound will be closed between Des Seigneurs Street and Guy Street.
• One lane is open between Georges-Vanier and Saint-Martin streets.

Saint-Antoine Street

• On Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saint-Antoine Street West will be closed between Peel and Jean-D’Estrées streets.
• LISTEN to CJAD 800 Radio for traffic updates every 15 minutes

REM

• The REM light-rail line will be closed on Saturday and Sunday. Shuttles will be available.

Montreal Alouettes Game (Percival Molson Stadium)

• In anticipation of the Alouettes’ 1 p.m. game on Saturday afternoon at Percival Molson Stadium, congestion is expected around the stadium due to work on the municipal network, particularly on Parc Avenue and Saint-Urbain Street. Public transit is recommended for this event.
