Gunshot reported at Montreal North library, investigation ongoing

An investigation is underway after what appears to have been a gunshot was heard at a library in Montreal North.

Police said a 911 call at 12:35 p.m., a 911 call reported a “loud bang” in a bathroom at the library on Rolland Boulevard near Pascal Street.

When officers arrived, they searched the premises and found a shell casing.

“Two suspects fled before police arrived,” said SPVM spokesperson Florence Stafford.

Police said there were people inside the library at the time, but no one was injured.

Surveillance footage is being reviewed, and the investigation is ongoing.

There have been no arrests.
