Four teenagers have been arrested following an attempted robbery at a jewelry store in Ahuntsic-Cartierville early Monday morning. Montreal police say they received several 911 calls at 1:45 a.m. reporting a break-in at a store on Fleury Street near the corner of Curotte Ave. “According to initial reports, several suspects allegedly smashed the storefront of the jewelry store using a sport utility vehicle before attempting to steal jewelry from inside the store, but were unsuccessful,” said Montreal police spokesperson Manuel Couture. The suspects then reportedly abandoned the SUV inside the jewelry store before fleeing in another vehicle. Police officers who arrived at the scene then intercepted a vehicle matching the description provided by witnesses. They arrested four suspects, all male, aged 18, 17, 16 and 13 years old, said Couture. “The suspects were taken to a detention centre, where they will be interviewed by investigators to determine their involvement in the incident,” he said.
