A five-year-old child died on Friday evening after drowning in a residential swimming pool in Drummondville, Que., according to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). Emergency services were called to a home on Rue Claude at approximately 6:30 p.m. after the child was found unresponsive in the pool. Upon arrival, first responders attempted resuscitation, but the child was pronounced dead at the hospital, an SQ spokesperson said. An investigation, in collaboration with Quebec’s coroner, is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
