London police are appealing to the public for help in identifying a suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman while she was out for a walk in the city’s west end Friday. According to a news release, a woman was out for a walk in the 300-block of Sarnia Road in the early morning hours of Friday when she was approached by a man who pulled her onto the front lawn of a home and sexually assaulted her. The victim contacted police. The suspect fled the area on foot. Officers attended the area and conducted a search, but the suspect was not located. London police describe the suspect as: Male, white, between 40 – 60 years of age, 5’6 – 5’8, average to heavy build, with facial hair. He was described as wearing a cap on his head, a light blue t-shirt and dark-coloured shorts. Investigators are appealing to members of the public who may have been in the area of Sarnia Road and Stirrup Court between 3 – 4 a.m., or who may have residential or business video surveillance or dash-camera footage, to contact police. The investigation is in its early stages, and police say further information will be shared as appropriate.
