Four people were taken to hospital after a stabbing at downtown Vancouver bar over the weekend, according to authorities. Officers were called to the bar on Granville Street near Smithe Street just before 3 a.m. Saturday, the Vancouver Police Department said in a news release Monday. “Witnesses reported an altercation that escalated inside the establishment involving three male patrons, resulting in all three sustaining stab wounds from an unidentified suspect,” according to police. “A male bar employee was also injured while attempting to intervene.” All four victims were taken to hospital with injuries police described as serious but non-life-threatening. No one has been arrested and the suspect is described as a Black man with dreadlocks, who is around 5’10” tall and was wearing a black “puffy” jacket. “We believe this was a targeted incident tied to the Lower Mainland gang conflict,” said VPD spokesperson Const. Darren Wong, in a statement. Authorities are urging witnesses, as well as anyone with information or video, to call 604-717-2500.
