Two arrested after one of the largest fentanyl seizures in Grey Bruce: OPP

A months-long drug trafficking investigation in Grey Bruce has ended, with two suspects arrested and over $300,000 worth of drugs seized from a Wiarton residence last week.

The investigation began in July 2025, after police say they suspected drug trafficking activity involving distribution of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine in the region with two involved suspects.

Following the search of a Frank Street residence on Oct. 9, one suspect was arrested. The next day, a second suspect was located and arrested.

Police also found fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine valued at over $300,000 along with about $1,800 worth of cash and drug processing paraphernalia.

According to Insp. Marla Barfoot, the seizure is one of the largest ever in Bruce and Grey Counties and marks a major disruption to the local drug trade.

The 58-year-old suspect from Wiarton has since been released on an undertaking, while a 31 year old from Toronto remains in custody with a bail hearing on Oct. 30.
