‘They want regime change’: Local Iranian community hold solidarity rally

The local Iranian community held a rally Thursday afternoon, advocating for human rights in their homeland.

“It’s my responsibility as an Iranian just to be the voice of people who are being killed at this moment and being arrested,” explained organizer Besat Zardosht.

The rally, which was held in the area of Wonderland Road and Oxford Street, takes place amid ongoing developments affecting Iran and growing engagement of the Iranian community abroad.

Organizers called the rally a solidarity event.

“They want regime change. The people of Iran are very different than the people who are governing them. It’s basically just occupied them,” said Zardosht.
