With Ontario’s provincial election coming up on February 27, voters in London should know what to expect before heading to the polls, and who they can vote for in their riding.

From where and when to vote to who’s running in your area, here’s a breakdown of what you need to know.

Who Can Vote?

Eligible voters are:

• 18 years old, or older
• A Canadian citizen
• A resident of Ontario

It’s a good idea to check that you’re registered with Elections Ontario.

If you’re on the voters list, you should receive a voter information card in the mail with details on where and when to vote.

Ways to Vote

There are several ways to cast your ballot:

• Advance Voting: Available from February 20 to 22 at select locations.
• Vote by Mail: Applications must be submitted by February 21 at 6 p.m. Once you apply, you must vote by mail and cannot switch to in-person voting.
• Election Day Voting: Polls will be open on February 27. Check your voter information card or Elections Ontario’s website for locations and hours.

What to Bring

Voters need to show identification that confirms their name and residential address.

A driver’s licence, Ontario Photo Card, or an official document with your address are acceptable.
