Tentative deal for Owen Sound school bus drivers

Bruce and Grey County bus drivers reach tentative agreement

A tentative deal has been struck between a local school bus operator and its drivers.

First Student Owen Sound and the union representing 105 school bus drivers have agreed on a tentative deal that would avoid a looming strike, which could have started as early as Monday.

Wages and unpaid work were the main sticking points. A contract ratification vote is expected later today.

A deal has not yet been made for First Student school bus drivers in Kincardine.

42 school bus drivers, who get 2,200 students to school in the Kincardine and Tiverton area could be walking the picket line, unless a deal is struck before Monday.

Negotiations are currently underway to avert a strike.
