Second suspect wanted in targeted weekend shooting

London police say one person has been arrested, but they are looking for another suspect following a weekend shooting at a London, Ont. motel.

London police are looking for a second suspect wanted in a targeted shooting that took place over the weekend. One person has already been arrested.

Around 12:30 a.m. on April 4, officers were called to a disturbance involving a gun at a motel in the 2000 block of Dundas Street.

When police arrived, they said there was evidence of a gun being fired. They added that two men, one armed with a gun, went to an east-end home earlier in the evening, forcing two men into one victim’s vehicle and demanded they drive it to a nearby motel.

At the motel, the London police said the gun was fired, before both suspects left in the victim’s pickup truck.

The stolen truck was recovered in the 1900 block of Marconi Boulevard shortly after.

The victims were believed to be targeted but did not sustain any injuries.

On Wednesday, one suspect was arrested in Scarborough and taken to the London Police headquarters.

The 41-year-old Scarborough man is facing charges for:

• Armed robbery
• Discharging a firearm with intent to wound/endanger life or prevent arrest
• Pointing a firearm
• Theft of a motor vehicle with violence
• Use of a firearm during commission of an indictable offence
• Kidnapping
• Uttering threats of death or bodily harm
• Disguise with intent

The second suspect is still missing, and the gun has not been recovered.

Anyone who was in the area on Dundas or Marconi in the early morning of April 4, or who might have security or dash-cam footage of the incident, is asked to contact London police.
