No injuries reported after weekend gunfire in London

London police are investigating two separate shooting incidents where residences were struck over the weekend.

London police are investigating two separate shooting incidents reported over the weekend in the city’s east and northwest ends.

Police say officers responded shortly after 12:45 a.m. Sunday to multiple 911 calls about a shooting at a townhouse complex on Limberlost Road. When officers arrived, they found evidence a firearm had been discharged. No injuries were reported, but bullets struck a vehicle and a home.

Investigators don’t believe either the vehicle or the residence was the intended target.

Later that day, police said a resident reported a possible shooting in the area of Cheapside Street and McNay Street. Officers found evidence confirming a firearm had been discharged. Investigators believe that incident may actually have happened some time between about 10:30 p.m. on May 7 and 1 a.m. on May 8. A home and a trailer were hit by bullets. No injuries were reported.

Both investigations are in the early stages.

Police are asking anyone who was in either area at the relevant times, or who has dashcam or surveillance video, to contact investigators. They are particularly interested in footage from the Cheapside-McNay area between 10:30 p.m. May 7 and 1 a.m. May 8, and from the Limberlost Road area between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. Sunday.

Police say they take firearm incidents seriously and are working to identify those responsible while partnering with the community to reduce gun violence.
