Two teenaged boys have been charged after an assault in London turned into a homicide over the weekend. Around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, police got multiple 911 calls about a group of people fighting with weapons in the area of Breton Park Crescent and Manitoulin Drive. When officers arrived they found a 27-year-old man with serious life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital by paramedics but was later pronounced deceased. Police say an interaction between the accused and victim led to the confrontation. “There were edged weapons being used and other blunt instruments,” said Acting Insp. Rob Brown. A 15-year-old boy and 17-year-old boy who cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have been jointly charged with second degree murder. Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity, heard anything unusual, or has residential or business video surveillance or dashcam footage from the area between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Aug. 3, to contact the London Police Service Major Crime Section. Police said, even the smallest piece of information could be vital to the investigation.
