London’s economic response team hosted a national webinar today, focused on trade uncertainty. “Trade negotiations with out most important partner continue to unfold unpredictably and currently appear stalled, with business investment slowing, unemployment rising and overall economic growth softening,” Romel Mostafa, Professor at Lawrence National Centre. Municipal and trade leaders discussed how they can respond to trade war complications. Speakers said municipalities are relying on local strengths, as well as cross-border connections to support businesses, workers and communities. “We have a really important role in both the connections that we have in the us cities but also in the on the ground intel that we can develop on how those decisions are being impacted within our cities,” said Mayor Josh Morgan.
