Two people are in hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, following a two-vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer in Elgin County early Friday afternoon. According to Elgin County OPP, at approximately 12:57 p.m., police, along with Central Elgin Fire and Elgin Emergency Medical Services, responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer and sedan at the intersection of Quaker Road and Southdale Line. Police say the passenger of the sedan was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the sedan was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured. The OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team is assisting with the investigation. The surrounding roads were closed for a period of time, but have since reopened. Updates will be provided when available.
