Police are appealing to the public in hopes of learning more about what led to the death of a woman whose body was found at a Central Saanich waste disposal facility earlier this week. The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) has ruled out homicide, but investigators are continuing to work to determine the circumstances surrounding her death. The woman was discovered on the morning of Oct. 13, prompting an investigation by the VIIMCU with assistance from Central Saanich police. On Friday, police confirmed the woman was 32-year-old Kannen Carter. Her next of kin have been notified. Investigators are now appealing to the public for help. “Police are asking anyone who had contact with, or saw, Ms. Carter on the evening of October 11, 2026, to contact investigators by email at tips@cspolice.ca,” Central Saanich police said in a release. No other details have been released about Carter’s death as the investigation continues.
