Large shed destroyed by fire near Blyth

A large shed holding a number of cars was levelled by flames Wednesday.

The fire broke out around 12 p.m. at a property on Moncrieff Road, just north of Blyth.

Fire crews from North Huron, Central Huron, Howick, Huron East, and Lucknow all converged on the scene, shuttling water to the rural property.

As of 3 p.m., the shed had been destroyed and knocked down by an excavator, but what was left of the large shed was still sending thick white smoke into the air.

North Huron Fire Chief Chad Kregar said crews had to battle white out conditions and high winds, which helped fan the flames of the large blaze.

No injuries were reported, and it’s unclear exactly the dollar figure of what was lost, although everything that was in the shed was destroyed.
