If you grew up in London, Ont., then you probably know about the Home County Music and Art Festival. To mark its 50th anniversary, organizers have brought back some of the original performers. “It’s London’s longest running festival running since the 1970s,” said Anna Donaldson, one of the festival’s co-ordinators. “This year, we are excited to bring back some of the original artists who were there 50 years ago, like Valdy and Ken Whiteley.” In all, there are two stages and more than 20 performers this year. To keep up with changing musical tastes, organizers are mixing up this year’s lineup to even include a children’s area. “We have The Rural Alberta Advantage headlining on Friday night and just a real mix of music throughout the day on Saturday,” said Donaldson. Besides the music, there are also more than 80 food and craft vendors spread out across Victoria Park. “This festival is all run by volunteers, by people who grew up with the festival and now have grandchildren that come out,” said Donaldson. The festival is on from Friday afternoon until 11:00 p.m. and resumes on Saturday starting at noon.
