Federal government officials held an event in London, promoting their efforts to support local industries. “The prime minister made a decision – Canada will not accept a bad deal,” said John Zerucelli, secretary of state for labour. Zerucelli visited Attica Manufacturing in southeast London Friday afternoon. Attica is a CNC machine shop, which serves a number of industries including the energy, medical, and automotive sectors. Joined by local area MPs, Zerucelli focused on the impacts of U.S. tariffs on London and how the government’s response will focus on local challenges created by those tariffs. “We’re going to stand up and stand with Londoners and with all Canadians. The finance minister has been very clear. We have the fiscal firepower,” said Zerucelli.
