Fatal crash in Perth County

One vehicle was involved in a collision in Perth County that claimed one woman’s life.

A 28-year-old woman has died following a single vehicle collision early Monday morning.

Emergency responders were called to the scene east of Granton around 7 a.m.

According to police, a pick-up truck was heading south on Perth Road 139 when it crossed over the northbound lane and hit a tree near Line 2.

The female driver was the lone occupant and was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation revealed the woman was not wearing a seatbelt, police say.

Officers say they have seen a surge deaths or serious injuries because people aren’t using their safety devices.
