Mainly cloudy skies are expected today as temperatures rise into the afternoon, despite a cold front moving through the region. CTV meteorologist Julie Atchison says some humidity will linger, with a high of 25 C expected. North of London and across Midwestern Ontario, temperatures will be cooler as winds shift to the north, bringing increased cloud cover across southern Ontario. Temperatures will be particularly cool near the lakeshore. Those planning a beach day are advised to keep the cooler conditions in mind. Friday will bring plenty of sunshine with a high of 23 C, followed by another sunny day Saturday with a high of 25 C. Temperatures will begin to climb Sunday, with increasing humidity marking the start of a significant change in conditions heading into early next week. Atchison says temperatures of 26 to 27 C early next week could feel about 10 degrees warmer because of the humidity. The risk of showers is expected to return by Wednesday. “Summer hanging on across the area,” Atchison said, adding that the heat and humidity are not finished just yet.
