Severe weather expected overnight

“The main threats are damaging wind gusts and torrential downpours,” warned CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. “This line of storms is set to push through southern Ontario after midnight into London … the line will continue to move eastward.”

Atchison says some areas could see 10 to 15 millimeters of rainfall, but that number could go up.

As quickly as the system of storms will arrive, they will disappear, according to Atchison, “You’ll wake up Friday morning and the system is history.”

Then, Friday will be hot and humid.

“Lots of sunshine. A beautiful day, winds out of the southwest, 27 degrees and it will feel close to a 30 in the afternoon,” said Atchison.

Conditions will cool down a bit for the long weekend, with some light showers possible.
