Widespread air quality warnings continue across a southern Ontario. “We are starting to see some slight improvement in and around the GTA and air quality in London,” said CTV News meteorologist Julie Atchison. “Still high risk air quality in midwestern Ontario, extremely high risk. So over the next a few hours, we are going to see a shift in our winds to the south. We have a warm front coming in that southerly flow will start to mix the smoke out at those lower levels.” There will be improving conditions through the late evening with a warm front coming in tonight, the chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms in the forecast as we head into tomorrow afternoon. “Temperatures across the area this afternoon into the upper 20s will still hold on the very warm side as we push toward midnight. But we’ve been under a northwest flow through the week. That’s led to all of this smoke,” said Atchison. A cold front comes in tomorrow afternoon with scattered showers and the possibility of some thunderstorms, and we will see some sunshine as we head into your Sunday.
