Videos being circulated online showing a woman dumping garbage into an Abbotsford, B.C., lake have prompted a police investigation. The Abbotsford Police Department, in a statement Wednesday, said authorities have contacted people who have posted the video in order to obtain more information. “Incidents of this nature are unacceptable and can have a significant impact on our parks, waterways, and community spaces,” the statement from the department said. Police said the first incident occurred at Mill Lake Park in late July, and the second “more recently” near Bluejay Elementary School. “AbbyPD is reminding anyone who witnesses incidents like these to report them directly to police as soon as possible,” the statement said. “Timely reporting helps to ensure relevant information can be gathered and appropriate follow-up can occur.” The department is asking anyone with information to contact police by emailing communications@abbypd.ca.
