Guelph Police say a car jumped the curb and nearly hit a light pole on Willow Road while they were investigating another crash that sent two people to hospital. The emergency call came in shortly after 1 a.m. on Friday. Police said a vehicle travelling west left the road and hit a parked vehicle near Imperial Road North. Two people were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Around 4:45 a.m., while officers were still on scene investigating, another vehicle mounted the curb in what police described as a closed area. “It narrowly missed a light pole and a marked police cruiser parked on the roadway before coming to a stop,” they said. “The driver was asked to provide a breath sample and was arrested after refusing.” The 24-year-old woman was charged with refusing to comply with a demand. Police said her vehicle was impounded and driver’s licence suspended. Anyone who witnessed one or both the collisions on Willow Road is asked to contact Constable Steven Ladoucer at SLadouceur@guelphpolice.ca or 519-824-1212, extension 7483.
