Barrie Police Services have laid additional charges in relation to a double homicide at an encampment in July of 2025. Just before 9 a.m. on Thursday, police say they arrested a 61-year-old man in the area of Collier and Owen Street. The accused, whose name police did not release, is now facing charges of accessory after the fact to murder in relation to homicide at a Bradford Street encampment in Barrie. Robert Ladouceur, 52, also known as “Tattoo Rob,” was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder and indignity to a body earlier this year. July 2025 - Investigation begins The dark tale of what happened began in July of 2025, when police shut down an encampment on Bradford Street for an investigation. During the initial probe, police remained silent in regards to details, despite being on location for several days. Aug. 2025 - An arrest On Aug. 1, police identified Robert Ladouceur as a prime suspect in an investigation linked to the shutdown of the encampment. A day later, the accused was arrested in Midland, Ont. and initially faced 19 different charges, including a number weapons charges and fleeing from police. In mid-August, investigators connect Ladouceur to a gruesome double homicide believed to have occurred at the encampment site, where suspected human remains were discovered. Court documents obtained by CTV News show the alleged murder of William Robinson, 45, took place on Jan. 18, with the dismemberment of a body occurring between Jan. 18 and Feb. 8. Documents also show the second alleged murder, that of David Cheesequay, 41, took place on July 28, with the dismemberment of a body occurring between July 28 and Aug. 2. Ladouceur, is alleged to have dismembered Robinson and Cheesequay. Investigators believe Robinson was killed in January 2025 and Cheesequay in late July, according to court documents obtained by CTV News. May 2026 - Alleged accomplice on trial With Ladouceur still behind bars, trial began for 47-year-old Dave Dumont. Dumont who was charged with accessory after-the-fact to murder is accused of having help Ladouceur with the alleged murders of Robinson and Cheesequay. In May, his charges were stayed by the Crown. June 2026 - Second alleged accomplice on trial In June, trial began for a second man accused of helping Ladouceur with the alleged murders. Eddy Guitard, 46, who also faced charges of accessory to murder, had his charged stayed by the Crown well. A staying of charges means the Crown has one year to resume prosecution against the accused, should it choose to do so. Aug. 2026 - More human remains Over a year later, police were back near the scene of the encampment as more human remains were found near Dyments Creek. For days, officers were seen canvassing the area as the investigation continued. Sept. 2026 - Remains identified In September, Barrie Police positively identified the remains found near Dyment’s Creek. According to investigators, the skeletal remains discovered belonged to William Robinson. His bones were discovered Aug. 13 in a wooded area near Anne Street South and Tiffin Street. To be continued It remains unclear if the discovery of the additional remains of Robinson have anything to do with the Thursday morning arrest. At this time Robert Ladouceur remains behind bars. A discovery hearing for Ladouceur is scheduled for Feb. 2027 with trial expected to begin in spring 2027. The allegations against any of the accused have not yet been tested in court.
