Suspicious incident at Stone Road Mall in Guelph

Police have closed an investigation into a suspicious incident at the Stone Road Mall in Guelph.

The Guelph Police Service said a Guelph woman was picking up food at the mall on Wednesday around 5:40 p.m. While she was out of her vehicle, she said a truck stopped behind her vehicle and another woman got out. Police were told the unknown woman tried to open the vehicle’s back door where the Guelph woman’s children were seated.

The Guelph woman’s partner saw what was happening and locked the door. They said the unknown person got back into her truck and drove away.

In an update at 6:01 p.m., police said the woman had been identified. Police told CTV News no charges were laid and there were no outstanding concerns.
