Man dragged out of bed and sprayed with bear spray during home invasion robbery in Guelph: police

A Guelph woman is facing charges as part of an investigation into a home invasion-style robbery in Guelph, Ont.

Officers with the Guelph Police Service were called to a home near Watson Parkway North and Starwood Drive just after 2 a.m. Sunday.

They were told several people walked into a man’s apartment and dragged him out of bed. The victim said he was sprayed with bear spray and the suspects stole his wallet and a diamond ring. The suspects claimed they had a gun, but it was never seen during the robbery.

Security cameras showed three men arriving at the building in a black sedan and entering the home with a woman who was already at the property. A few minutes later, all four were seen speeding off in the sedan.

A few hours later, a 35-year-old Guelph woman was arrested for break and enter, robbery, assault with a weapon and administering a noxious substance.
