Knife pulled out during assault in downtown Guelph

Two people have been charged with assault after a knife was pulled out during an incident in downtown Guelph.

Members of the Guelph Police Service were called to the Wyndham Street North and Carden Street area after a witness said they saw two males assaulting a third person. Police were told one of the suspects pulled out a knife and held it towards the victim, who was able to run away.

Officers arrived and arrested a 17-year-old Guelph boy and charged him with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failure to comply with a bail order.

An 18-year-old was also arrested and charged with assault.
